These stories weren't based on any reality: they were made up. But the audience lapped them up and fell for Vijayashanthi by spreading these rumours and fake information through Whatsapp forwards. One of Vijayashanthi's sons clarified that she had never worked with any Tollywood actors by appealing to these people who were spreading false rumours about her. But they didn't listen and spread the false stories about her. A few months ago, Vijayashanthi announced that she was going back to acting at the age of 52 after a break of five years, and her first film — a family drama — was releasing in December 2017. The media went crazy as they thought that she had an "item song" in the movie. They asked her if it was true and then leaked those details online as "news." They also started to dig into the past, trying to find information about her work as a TV anchor.
